Southbound Part 3: Makati to Susana Heights (Buendia to Filinvest)

Image
TO SOUTHBOUND PART 3 - MANILA When the Skyway enters Makati from Manila, we pretty much get back to the original (Bicutan-Buendia) segment of road from the late 90s.  Because the road was originally designed to funnel people in-and-out of Makati to and from the south suburbs, there are no provisions for southbound exits all the way until NAIAX (which was only finished in 2016-2017). Screenshots are from  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWsb14ve-4I After leaving Makati city limits, things get busier with 4 exits in a row (and a planned 5th). 20 kilometers/12.43 miles north of Susana Heights - 15.77 kilometers/9.8 miles south of Libis Baesa Buendia Toll Plaza Still not open yet (as of February 2021), this will be the site of the first barrier toll plaza on Stage 3 going northbound and the last one going south. Exit 19, Buendia (to Ayala, Salcedo Village, Poblacion, Bonifacio Global City via Kalaayan Flyover, Pasay, Bay City, Magallanes) 19.5 kilometers/12.12 miles north of Susana Height

Southbound Part 2: Manila (San Juan Bridge to Osmena Highway)

TO SOUTHBOUND PART 1 - QUEZON CITY Going southbound, the San Juan River section offers about a 5 kilometer gap between the E. Rodriguez and Tomas Claudio exits - even though both actually lead to the same Manila neighborhood of Santa Mesa.  This roundabout bend interesting side effect of having the Skyway rerouted away from PUP, but not really too critical for long-distance travelers. (It does however discourage some local usage of the road, as southbound it is very indirect to loop to NLEX Connector to reach San Juan) Screenshots are from https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uWsb14ve-4I 26 kilometers/16.16 miles north of Susana Heights - 9.77 kilometers/6 miles south of Libis Baesa San Juan Bridge This signage is specifically in the instance that PAREX gets built fully.  Because Skyway itself only has (so far) one southbound Makati exit, at Buendia, if PAREX is built, it would actually provide access to other Makati districts (Circuit Makati, Rockwell) more easily than going all the way to
